The 3rd annual Seniors Globe Walk (starts Jan 4th and goes until April 30th)
During Saskatoon Council on Aging community consultations for the Age-friendly Saskatoon Initiative, older adults identified the need for more physical activity and social opportunities during the winter months. The Seniors' Globe Walk was created to help fill this need.
From January 4, 2016 until April 30, 2016 teams will MOTIVATE each other to walk the equivalent distance of a return from the moon! Participants can stroll or roll, hike or bike, swim or gym; all forms of physical activity count. Each ½ hr of physical activity counts as one mile. The Globe Walk will inspire all 50+ adults to stay active and work with their team to achieve this awesome goal! I would ask you to consider finding a Captain for our Globe Walk this year. It’s fun for participants, super easy to participate and it’s FREE. You, or someone from your group, would serve as Captain for your team. Participants would each be given a calendar to log their activity each month.
