At Oskayak High School this morning, the Saskatoon Olympic Torch Relay Organizing Committee revealed some of its plans to welcome the Olympic Torch on its cross-Canada journey when it reaches Saskatoon on Monday, January 11, 2010 over the noon hour. |

In motion challenges the community to be physically active when traveling to their daily destinations. We want everyone to get “in motion” May 30-June 5 by taking the Commuter Challenge. Participants will be able to walk, bike or roll their way to great in motion prizes!
Information on the campaign and active transportation as well as a link to the Commuter Challenge will appear on the website – www.in-motion.ca. |

Commuter Challenge occurred during Canadian Environmental Week from May 30 to June 5, and finally the results are in! Saskatoon placed 5th in the population category of 100,000 to 249,000 after Kelowna, Regina, Guelph, and Thunder Bay.

This year the Bridge City Boogie on Sunday, June 13, 2010.
The Bridge City Boogie is a 2km, 5km and 10km wellness event with emphasis on fun, fitness and community. The Boogie is all inclusive for all ages and ability levels. You can volunteer for the event, participate as a an individual or participate as part of a team. |

In motion would like to stay safe while being physically active outdoors this summer. In motion and the Canadian Cancer Society would like to remind you that while outdoor activities are part of a healthy physically active lifestyle, there is a danger you can’t see – ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Natural sunlight is important to good health, but too much exposure to UV rays increases the risk of sunburns, skin cancer and cataracts.

Saskatoon is very proud to host the Olympic Torch as it passes through our city on its cross-Canada relay to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics in February. The Olympic Torch will arrive on Monday January 11, 2010 over the noon hour. Let’s show our support, and join the free two hour celebration outside at Kiwanis Memorial Park.
