Olympic Torch Relay hits Saskatoon - January 11th!

Torch_relay_pic.JPGSaskatoon is very proud to host the Olympic Torch as it passes through our city on its cross-Canada relay to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics in February.  The Olympic Torch will arrive on Monday January 11, 2010 over the noon hour.  Let’s show our support, and join the free two hour celebration outside at Kiwanis Memorial Park.

There will be 50-minutes of Saskatoon’s top entertainment on the huge Olympic stage, featuring dancers, singers, and performers representing the diversity of Saskatoon’s cultural community.

Also, in the Park will be snow sculptures led by renowned snow sculptor Patricia Leguen and created by students from Centennial and St. Joseph’s High Schools.  You can also purchase chili and hot chocolate and view the interactive sponsor displays.

You can be an Olympian, too!  In lead up to the Torch Relay event, in motion presents the 5 day “in motion Torch Relay Challenge”.  Download the challenge form by clicking here, and initial or check off each of the dates you are physically active for a minimum of 30 minutes.  Fax or email your challenge sheet, and you can win some great prizes!  Be sure to include your name, phone # and email address so we can contact you should you be a winner!

…another great way to stay ”in motion”  this winter!
